I wanted to start a new little series on my blog this year with monthly foodie favourites (obviously it was gonna be food based!)
They’ll all be vegan options to share ideas and it isn’t to force you to be vegan; eat what you want! I just wanna share my faves of the month.
I’m going to include my “Top 3” – Homemade Meals, Shop Buys & Meals Out.
Top 3 Homemade Meals:
1. Tortilla Base Pizza.
I honestly don’t know why I waited 23 years to make a pizza like this. It’s so easy, delicious and healthier than your average pizza.
2. Avocado Pesto Tagliatelle
Plus a homemade pizza lol. I didn’t make the pasta myself just the pesto. This dish is so quick and easy to make and it’s delicious. It won’t leave you feeling like a whale after either.
3. Duck Wraps
Technically falls into shop bought as I didn’t make the duck oops. We had this meal twice in Jan and it’s honestly just like regular duck pancakes. The only difference being that the duck isn’t greasy or fatty.
Top 3 Shop Buys:
1. Vego bars.
Basically a giant block of Nutella. You can get these bars in 150g or 65g. Obvz I always get the 150g but I think that is also better value for money. They aren’t the cheapest chocolate but it’s worth it. I’ve done some shopping about for these and you can get them from… Farplace Animal Rescue on Clayton Street £3.75 for a large bar, Holland & Barrett £1.99 for a smaller bar and The Grocery £3.99 for a large bar. I’m sure other places sell them but I haven’t found them yet!
2. Ben & Jerry’s Chocolate Fudge Brownie.
Like the sweet morning dew, I took one look at you,
And it was plain to see, you were my destiny.
With my arms open wide,
I threw away my pride
I’ll sacrifice for you
Dedicate my life for you
3. Freedom Mallows.
I love these on hot chocs and on my pancakes!
Top 3 Meals Out:
1. The Ship Inn.
Fish & Chips
The best chips I’ve ever eaten in Newcastle upon Tyne. Also, the fish is so good too. I’ve had this dish twice and would happily eat it once a week.
